What rules do apply for Halal certification?

The rules depend upon your risk classification, export region, and business activities. All companies need to be certified against a Halal standard, which may vary per region. A list of available Halal standards is available for viewing.

In addition to the above, you must adhere to an applicable HQC Scheme.

How much does a Halal certification cost?

That depends on your risk classification, export region, amount of products, and manpower needed to certify your company.

After filing an application form, our department will revert back to you with a quotation, detailing all services provided and their fees.

One may expect audit fees, travel expenses, documentation assessment fees, annual certification fees, administration fees, shipment fees if applicable, and Halal training fees to be charged.

Does HQC accept third party certificates?

Yes, we do accepted third party Halal certificates, food safety certificates, training certificates, GMP certificates, and other types of certificates.

How long does it take to become Halal certified?

Usually within 1 month, provided that the availabilities and readiness of the parties are there.

Are HQC's certificates accepted in all regions?

Halal Quality Control is accredited or recognized in most parts of the world. Not only Headquarters, but also its branches.

Please note that some regions have restrictions on the types of Halal certificates being presented to customs. In some parts of the world, only Halal Shipment Certificates are accepted.

Can I request a meeting to understand the process?

Yes, we provide complimentary sessions for companies seeking to understanding the Halal certification process.

Are there any restrictions to Halal certification?

Yes, in most cases this is related to fresh, frozen, processed meats as well as beverages shaped like alcoholic brands.

Since 2015, restrictions on Halal certification bodies have been imposed. The restrictions are that per each individual country, a Halal certification body must be accredited independently. Our Ecosystem consist of over 13 individiual offices able to provide local solutions.

How long is a Halal certificate valid?

1 up to 3 years for a Factory Halal Certificate.

Can I request a Halal certification for my suppliers?

Yes, Halal certificates may be requested for third parties. Please note that each party must follow the certification process before becoming Halal certified.
